Role: Business Analyst/ Business Data Analyst - Financial Crimes

Location: Charlotte, NC

Hybrid: 3 Days in the office

Contract: 6 Months with possibilities of extension

Job Description:

We are seeking a Business Data Analyst with strong experience in AML/KYC, Financial Crimes, and Risk domains. The ideal candidate will bridge business and data teams by translating regulatory and compliance requirements into clear user stories, performing data analysis, and supporting risk and financial crime initiatives using data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and regulatory requirements related to AML, KYC, Financial Crime, and Risk programs.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk, technology, and operations teams to gather requirements and define solutions.
• Create and manage user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation aligned with Agile methodologies.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and risk indicators supporting AML/KYC monitoring and investigations.
• Use SQL (intermediate level) to extract, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources.
• Support reporting, dashboards, and metrics for financial crime, risk assessment, and compliance monitoring.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems and reports.
• Assist in UAT activities by validating data outputs against business and regulatory expectations.
