Senior Business Systems Analyst (Loan Originations)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Business Systems Analyst to support lending platform configuration and optimization initiatives. This role focuses on strategy, rules configuration, and system enhancements to drive business performance within a loan origination environment.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with loan origination systems—preferably within auto finance, though mortgage or credit card originations experience is also valuable. This individual will collaborate across business, IT, Risk, Finance, and Product teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze complex business challenges and design intelligent system solutions to support lending operations.
• Configure and optimize business rules using FICO tools and related optimization platforms.
• Participate in story refinement, configuration design, and Agile delivery processes.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable technical and business solutions.
• Document conceptual designs, process flows, and configuration logic.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Risk, Finance/Pricing, Modeling, and Product Management.
• Support Quality Assurance efforts to ensure configurations meet business requirements and minimize risk.
• Identify system enhancements and platform improvements aligned with strategic objectives.
• Provide thought leadership on optimization best practices and lending system capabilities.
• Present complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay current with industry trends and recommend innovations where applicable.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in financial services, preferably in loan originations.
• Hands-on experience with loan origination systems (auto finance strongly preferred).
• Experience with FICO Xpress / FICO Originations or similar optimization platforms (e.g., CPLEX).
• Knowledge of Mosel configuration language.
• Strong SQL querying experience (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
• Python experience required.
• Proven ability to work in a highly matrixed, cross-functional environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within auto finance lending platforms.
• Business Analyst or Project Management certifications.
• Experience facilitating Agile delivery teams.
• Ability to lead configuration discussions and influence stakeholders.
• Experience presenting technical solutions to business leadership.
