We are excited to introduce a new Business Analyst role within our Finance team. This net-new position reflects our continued investment in strengthening financial insight, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. Reporting to the Controller, you will play a key role in bridging finance, operations, and technology - transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights that support strategic priorities. Working closely with stakeholders across departments, you will help identify opportunities for process improvement, enhance reporting capabilities, and support the development of scalable financial solutions. This role is designed for a proactive, analytical thinker who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, challenging assumptions, and driving meaningful change. As Xpera continues to grow, the Business Analyst will be instrumental in shaping how we leverage data to improve performance and deliver value across the business.

This is a regular, full-time hybrid position, Monday to Friday, with one to two days per week in the Edmonton, Alberta office (1024 Parsons Road SW). The salary range is $75,000.00 to $95,000.00 CAD per year, based on experience, and includes benefits, an EAP, and an RRSP matching program from your first day of employment.

What You Will Do:

  • Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, measure performance, and deliver clear, actionable insights to support decision-making
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide visibility into key metrics and business performance
  • Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to gather requirements, define problems, and translate needs into practical solutions
  • Own the implementation and ongoing optimization of a CRM platform for the sales team, including requirements gathering, process design, testing, rollout, and continuous improvement
  • Support the sales team in achieving growth objectives by providing pipeline analysis, performance tracking, and insights to improve conversion, productivity, and revenue outcomes
  • Develop financial models to support decision-making, including gross margin analysis, pricing proposals, buy vs. lease evaluations, and standard costing
  • Support system and process improvements by identifying gaps, recommending enhancements, and working with technical teams to implement changes
  • Lead and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards
  • Contribute to project delivery by supporting planning, tracking progress, and helping remove obstacles to keep initiatives on track
  • Monitor and report on project and initiative performance, providing regular updates and recommendations
  • Develop a strong understanding of Xpera’s services, operations, and industry to provide relevant, high-impact analysis
  • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly through well-structured reports, presentations, and stakeholder updates

What You Will Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Experience managing projects from vision setting through implementation.
  • Experience developing and delivering high quality written and verbal communications.
  • Knowledge of business process modeling and familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • A team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability in change management to drive a high performing culture.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, JIRA, and BPM tools.
