The Business Analyst – Accessory generates profitability and financial analysis to support Sales, Customer Support, and internal operational teams. This includes cost modeling, financial reporting, business case development, pricing analysis, and support of customer proposals.
The Business Analyst – Accessory is responsible for generating financial and profitability analysis to support sales, customer programs, continuous improvement projects, and business decision-making. This role acts as a key link between Sales, Customer Support, Engineering, Production, and Finance by creating cost models, monitoring shop visit costs, preparing business cases, responding to pricing requests, and supporting contract proposal development.
Key Responsibilties
Sales Support
- Acts as the primary liaison between Sales, Customer Support, Production, and Logistics for cost estimates, cost monitoring, shop visit costs, and fly-by-hour calculations.
- Develops cost models and estimates in accordance with preliminary work scopes, in collaboration with Customer Support, Engineering, and Production.
- Reviews proposals, supports contract negotiations, and contributes to business cases.
- Participates in contract proposal design and analysis for customer RFPs.
Business Analysis
- Implements, maintains, and manages financial oversight for projects, products, or programs.
- Provides regular or ad-hoc reporting to internal departments, management, or customers.
- Supports Customer Program Managers with financial transparency for key contracts.
Business Support
- Communicates appropriately with customers and supports new business opportunities.
- Supports Manager, Strategy with continuous improvement projects to maximize profitability for the Accessory Program.
Additional Main Responsibilities
- Creation, implementation, benchmarking, and maintenance of cost databases and cost calculations.
- Supports Sales and Finance with business case development based on cost analysis.
- Upholds the company’s financial and cost accounting standards.
- Updates the company’s price list and handles ad-hoc pricing requests.
- Benchmarks other facilities or third parties to implement best practices.
- Assists in preparing marketing presentations for customer visits, trade shows, and executive reviews.
- Supports major sales campaigns on-site with occasional international travel (<15%).
- Provides input, charts, and presentations for customer program reviews.
- Performs other duties as assigned (including Customer Account Manager functions).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in financial or accounting roles, preferably in aviation; OR
- Equivalent education with 10 years of experience in Sales or Customer Support, with strong technical and financial analysis background, ideally in an aviation environment practicing lean principles.
- Intermediate Windows 10/11 knowledge
- Advanced MS Word and PowerPoint
- Advanced MS Excel including macro programming, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables
- Intermediate SAP financial functions/transactions
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 annually
