This role is part of the Office of Statistics and Information (OSI) branch within the department of Treasury Board and Finance (TBF). OSI plays a key role in planning, consolidating, developing, and promoting Albertaβs demographic, economic, and social statistics to support evidence-based decision-making across government.
You will be part of the Workforce Reporting and Analytics (WRA) team, which partners with client ministries, including Human Resources (HR) and Finance, to deliver reporting and analytics services. The team works closely with stakeholders to transform data into meaningful insights that support workforce planning and organizational decision-making across the Alberta Public Service (APS).

In this role, you will act as a strategic advisor and trusted partner, working closely with business stakeholders to understand challenges and identify how data can support informed decision-making. You will play a key role in bridging the gap between business and technical teams, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, effectively communicated, and translated into practical reporting solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys consulting, stakeholder engagement, and presenting insights, with a strong interest in using data visualization to tell clear and compelling stories. Understanding government structures, policies and procedures, as well as a working level knowledge of HR directives, policies, legislation, and workforce data will also be beneficial to you in this role.

Note : This role focuses primarily on consultation, business analysis, and front-end dashboard visualization, with collaboration alongside technical experts who support the back-end data development.

Qualifications
University graduation in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Human Resources, or a related field plus a minimum of 2 years progressively responsible related experience in business analysis and requirements elicitation.

This position is a permanent, full-time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday (in office).
Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
