Business Analyst

Rate: $50–55/hr on W2 (No C2C)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a collaborative and dynamic project team working on complex IT system enhancements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to elicit, document, and manage business requirements across both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies. This position is responsible for ensuring alignment between business objectives and system capabilities, while effectively communicating across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and document clear, unambiguous, and testable business requirements that meet business needs using standard templates.
- Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with stakeholders to capture and validate functional and non-functional requirements.
- Develop and maintain a prioritized backlog (Agile) or requirement traceability matrix (Waterfall) to support project planning and delivery.
- Analyze current (“As-Is”) and future state (“To-Be”) business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UI/UX designers, solution architects, developers, testers, and product owners.
- Participate in scope management, change control, and impact analysis related to requirement changes.
- Support decision-making for Build vs. Buy assessments and assist with cost/benefit analysis as needed.
- Ensure all BA-related deliverables align with internal standards and project milestones.
- Assist in the resolution of critical IT issues and risks pertaining to requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise IT environments.
- Demonstrated experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Proven track record in documenting Epics, Features, and User Stories.
- Strong ability to document As-Is and To-Be process flows.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills across business and technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence for backlog and requirements management.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale system integrations or modernization projects.
