Summary

The Business Analyst in the Information Technology department, reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications, is responsible for supporting and enhancing the College’s Enterprise Applications, with a primary focus on Workday ERP and SIS systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that business processes are optimized and that technology solutions align with institutional goals. The Business Analyst collaborates across departments to deliver timely, high-quality solutions and maintains documentation and integrations that support the College’s operational needs.

60% of Time: Workday ERP and SIS Support

  • Oversee Workday-related projects and enhancements.
  • Design and modify Workday reports, to support the needs of users at the college.
  • Create and maintain calculated fields and conditional rules for automated workflows.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze, document, and implement business process updates within Workday.
  • Troubleshoot system problems, determine root cause, and implement solutions.
  • Design, configure, and test integrations between Workday and external systems using Enterprise Integration Builder (EIB) and other Workday tools.
  • Monitor and assess integration failures, assessing reasons and partnering with functional users on solutions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for requirements gathering, business processes, integrations, procedures, and system configuration by the team.
  • Understand Workday security including adjusting domains and security groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.

40% of Time: Project Management

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to determine a strategy and vision for software applications, including business needs and requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and users, building strong relationships and becoming a trusted partner and subject matter expert.
  • Collect, analyze, and translate business requirements into user stories, workflows, business process logic, process maps, wireframes, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects through developing project plans and monitoring performance.
  • Configure, test and deploy requested and required changes in coordination with functional offices and Technology support.
  • Participate in system planning and testing including user acceptance testing and system integration testing.
  • Creates and maintains business relationships with respective stakeholders on campus, and supports their work and functional needs with relevant expertise.
  • Provide guidance and consult with the College's information security staff on best practices for the team's projects.

Community Engagement

  • Be an active participant in the life of the College by attending and supporting key events like Commencement, Homecoming, and other all-hands-on-deck gatherings. Show a spirit of collaboration and community involvement, including volunteering when possible.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • 1+ years of Workday experience including business processes, integrations, configuration, and reporting
  • Proficiency in Excel and data manipulation tools
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results
  • Uses sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential matters

  • Experience in higher education
