Position Overview

The Business Analyst – RPA & Data Analytics will play a key role in transforming operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making within a healthcare revenue cycle and collections environment. This position is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying automation opportunities, developing requirements for RPA solutions, implementing automation, and delivering actionable insights through advanced analytics and reporting.

This role bridges the gap between business operations, technology teams, and data strategy. It helps modernize workflows, optimize collections performance, and ensure compliance with healthcare and data privacy standards.

Key Responsibilities

Process Automation & Improvement

  • Analyze end-to-end business processes within healthcare collections, billing, and payment workflows to identify automation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define RPA use cases and document business requirements, process maps, and exception handling scenarios.
  • Design, test, and implement bots using platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Power Automate.
  • Measure and report on automation effectiveness, ROI, and performance improvement metrics.
  • Continuously identify process bottlenecks and propose data-driven enhancements.

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track collection metrics, payer trends, and agent performance.
  • Leverage data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Looker) to deliver insights to operational and executive teams.
  • Perform root-cause and trend analysis on key KPIs such as recovery rate, payment lag, claim denials, and compliance adherence.
  • Build and maintain datasets from multiple sources including collection systems and payment portals.
  • Use SQL, Python, or Excel-based analysis to support ad-hoc business questions and strategic decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with operations, IT, and compliance teams to ensure automation and data solutions align with healthcare regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HITECH, PCI).
  • Support business users in adopting new tools and process changes through documentation and training.
  • Serve as liaison between non-technical business users and technical RPA/data teams.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Process Analyst, preferably in a healthcare collections or revenue cycle management setting.
  • Hands-on experience gathering and documenting business requirements, process flows, and user stories.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, Excel, and one or more BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Experience with RPA platforms (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Power Automate).

Preferred:

  • Excellent understanding of healthcare billing, claims processing, or compliance regulations.
  • Experience in account receivable management systems, such as Artiva RM and Artiva HCx.
  • Experience designing and implementing RPA solutions in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of APIs, data integration techniques, or scripting languages (Python, VBA).
  • Exposure to machine learning or predictive analytics concepts.
  • Lean Six Sigma or process improvement certification.

Key Attributes

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to translate complex data into business insights.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to accuracy, integrity, and compliance with healthcare data standards.

Impact of the Role

This position will directly impact the company’s ability to:

  • Increase automation and reduce manual processing time.
  • Improve collection efficiency and accuracy.
  • Deliver real-time insights that inform operational and client strategies.
  • Enhance compliance and data governance within the healthcare collections process.
