Summary

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, the Business Analyst will analyze the performance of operational contracts, support new contract processes, and manage the monthly financial closing for a portfolio of contracts. The role includes assisting operational managers with Equans' financial tools, providing insights into contract performance, and developing reports, dashboards, and performance indicators to support decision-making.

Scope of duties & responsibilities

  • Handle the monthly financial closing of a portfolio of contracts (accounting entries, analyses, etc.).
  • Present and explain financial results to the managers of the contracts/sites assigned to them.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial information, especially concerning accounting allocations and projects/cost centers.
  • Analyze and explain monthly variances between actual, budgeted, and forecast results.
  • Participate in updating various financial reports for the group.
  • Support operational managers in the financial aspects of their contracts.
  • Participate in analyzing the financial performance of new contracts, comparing it with the initial bid to propose improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of new reports and analyses, improving dashboards and performance indicators in collaboration with the business portfolio manager.
  • Actively participate in the budget process.
  • Collaborate on the year-end report in collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Perform any other duties required by the role or assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Able to pass the required security clearance checks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration (BBA) with a specialization in accounting or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role.
  • CPA designation or in the process of obtaining it is an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Good knowledge of the new IFRS standards.
  • Knowledge of D365 is an asset.
  • Willing to travel
  • English Proficient in both spoken and written communication

Pay range: $75,000 - $85,000
