Standard Carbon Inc. is a dynamic, multi-faceted small business working at the intersection of greenhouse gas (GHG) verification and financial carbon accounting. We are accredited under ISO 14065 for GHG verification and validation and are also actively building cutting-edge software that makes climate accounting accessible and actionable for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

About the Role

As a Carbon Data Analyst, you'll gain hands-on experience in climate focused domains ranging from regulatory audits to software development. You'll work closely with a Team Lead to:

● Conduct GHG verifications under programs like CFR, OBPS, Alberta TIER, EPS, and CBAM

● Develop Life Cycle Assessments across a variety of sectors

● Verify carbon credit generation projects in Canada and the U.S.

● Assist clients with GHG inventory reporting

● Support software development with emissions insights

Key Responsibilities

● Participate in project planning and GHG emissions verifications

● Prepare verification reports and conduct data sampling

● Conduct staff interviews and review data systems

● Ensure regulatory compliance

● Report to the Team Lead and attend product development meetings

● Manage timelines and multiple projects simultaneously

● Participate in ongoing training

Required Skills & Experience

● Post-secondary education in Environmental Policy, Climate Science, or related fields

● Training in GHG inventory or project reporting

● Certification or training as a GHG Verifier (or willingness to obtain)

● 1-3 years of experience in GHG-related roles

● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

● Fluent in written and spoken English; Written and spoken French is an asset

● In office availability; team collaboration skills

● Be legally entitled to work in Canada

● Possess a valid passport and have the ability to travel (Canada/international)

● Possess a valid drivers license and clean driving record

Preference for:

● Sector knowledge: agriculture, clean energy, forestry, waste

● Familiarity with OpenLCA, GHGenius, GREET

● Immediate availability

Compensation & Perks

● Salary: $50,000 - $61,000 CAD
