Job Description
- S/he will assist in the preparation of regulatory reports for a broker dealer.
- S/he provides support for the end-to-end processes, required to transform data into information for reporting purposes. This includes retrieving data and aggregating or performing calculations to produce an output that will be inputted into a regulatory report; identifying and analyzing exceptions; and providing support to the department for ad hoc requests and other special project activities, as assigned.
- S/he will also perform reconciliations or control checks of accounts or financial data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- The individual in this role may be called upon to perform reconciliations or analysis of large datasets within Excel by using pivot tables and VLOOKUP function.
- S/he may also be asked to create, enhance written desktop procedures.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Relevant work experience in accounting or finance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel.
- Strong written and oral communications skills in English.
- Advanced Excel skills
Required Software/Technology:
- Advanced Excel skills required – Vlookup, Pivot tables and beyond/Able to navigate efficiently and quickly through Excel
- MS Office tools
- Some understanding of PowerBI, PowerPoint, PowerQuery – skills to dive deeper if needed
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or finance.
Additional Information:
- Duration: 3-6 month contract opportunity
- Hybrid Work Model: 4 days onsite required weekly in Jersey City, NJ
- Shift: Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM EST
- Rate Range: $35-40/hr. W2 (based on experience)
