What profiles are we recruiting and for whom?

To support the growth of our international client in the financial sector, ALTEN Canada is hiring a Business/Data Analyst specialized in data governance and quality. This role is key to ensuring compliance and data quality within a global regulatory program.

What will be my responsibilities?

  • Collaborate with cross-divisional project managers, technology product owners, and data office engineering teams to align goals and deliverables for the global regulatory program.
  • Communicate effectively to bridge gaps between policy, tooling, governance, and delivery.
  • Work directly with development teams to educate them on intended outcomes, governance tools, data quality integration, and JIRA usage for reporting and issue tracking.
  • Troubleshoot roadblocks encountered by development teams.
  • Understand and apply Data Architecture & Management principles and BCBS 239 framework requirements, as well as internal data policies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and resolve issues proactively using Agile methodology.
  • Partner with the Data Office to enhance strategic tooling for cataloging and lineage.
  • Be willing to provide general assistance beyond core responsibilities.

I'm convinced! What skills do I need to join your teams?

  • Previous experience as a Business or Data Analyst with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and propose ideas and concepts.
  • Understanding of technical solutions and ability to apply them (not a coding role, but familiarity with APIs and configuration required).
  • Knowledge of data governance concepts: cataloging, ownership, lineage, and data quality.
  • Experience working with global teams across multiple locations, ideally in finance.
  • Ability to express and influence complex ideas simply and clearly.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment welcoming diverse perspective.
