SickKids Hospital Data Strategy team is seeking a Data Strategy & Quality Analyst to join the team!

Having robust data drives SickKids' movement towards Unprecedented Outcomes Powered by Precision Child Health. SickKids' Enterprise Data Strategy have several key elements, one of which is the establishment of a centralized hub of analytics.

In support of the SickKids Enterprise Data Strategy, we are seeking a dynamic Data Strategy & Quality Analyst who can balance multiple priorities and work collaboratively with leadership to support the implementation of core components of the Enterprise Data Strategy. This role is central to supporting the implementation of the SickKids Enterprise Data Strategy and Precision Child Health initiatives, with a special focus on quality and safety data. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across clinical, operational, and technical teams to ensure robust data stewardship, governance, and actionable insights that drive improvements in quality of care.

Here's What You'll Get To Do Data Strategy & Analytics

  • Support the conceptualization, execution, and ongoing refinement of quality and safety data strategy and the enterprise dashboard strategy.
  • Gather, analyze, and migrate quality management data from various sources to enterprise platforms.
  • Conduct business requirements sessions, clarify scope, and prepare documentation of business rules and data definitions.
  • Perform analytic activities including data analysis, data quality reviews, and preparation of data summaries.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

  • Support quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Monitor usage metrics, prepare status reports, and manage change requests.
  • Work closely with business and clinical stakeholders to develop requirements, specifications, and business rules for Power BI reports.
  • Work closely with data experts on the Decision Support and Data Warehouse team to ensure accuracy and appropriate structure to the data.
  • Design and execute user acceptance testing plan for successful report implementations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Client Experience

  • Facilitate discussions with clinical leaders and operational teams to interpret quality management data and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Provide superior client experience and strengthen relationships with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with counterparts at partnering institutions to enable cross-institutional data sharing and policy development.

Here's What You'll Need

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certification in a relevant field; MSc or thesis-based graduate degree preferred for analyst responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools (PowerBI, Excel, SAS, SQL, R, Python, SPSS).
  • Experience in data strategy, analytics, business analysis, or patient experience management within healthcare.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence processes and automated reports (PowerBI, etc.) to communicate key findings.
  • Advanced quantitative health data analysis skills; familiarity with clinical datasets and hospital information systems (Epic preferred).
  • Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience facilitating engagement sessions and meetings with business owners, end users, and developers.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex quantitative ideas to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and within tight timelines.
  • Problem-solving skills, drive for innovation, and ability to execute ideas.
  • Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.
  • Previous healthcare and project management experience is an asset.
