POSITION SUMMARY

The Simons Foundation is seeking a Digital Analytics and Insights Analyst who will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, driving data-driven decision-making across the foundation's digital properties, with a specific focus on web products. This role requires a minimum of three years of experience in analytics, particularly with web analytics platforms and a strong understanding of user behavior on digital platforms. The analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends, and providing strategic recommendations to optimize user experience, content strategy, and overall digital engagement.

This position will report to the Director of Digital Technology.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Data Collection & Management:

  • Oversee and manage data collection from various web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager)
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all digital properties
  • Collaborate with the Digital Technology team to implement and maintain analytics tracking codes and infrastructure

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of web traffic, user behavior, conversion funnels, and content performance
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports for various stakeholders, highlighting key trends, insights, and actionable recommendations
  • Translate complex data into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for non-technical audiences
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to answer specific questions and support strategic initiatives

Strategic Insights & Recommendations

  • Identify opportunities for website optimization, A/B testing, and personalization based on data analysis
  • Provide strategic recommendations to improve user engagement, content effectiveness, and achieve organizational goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., UX/UI, editorial, technology) to integrate data insights into roadmaps and strategic planning
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in web analytics

Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as a subject matter expert on web analytics within the foundation
  • Train and educate internal stakeholders on analytics tools and data interpretation
  • Foster a data-driven culture by promoting the use of insights in decision-making
  • Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an analytics role, with a strong focus on web products and digital analytics
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI) is essential
  • Experience with SQL or other querying languages for data extraction and manipulation is a plus

Related Skills & Other Requirements

  • Proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) is essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and draw actionable conclusions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and optimization strategies
  • Understanding of digital marketing concepts (SEO, SEM, social media) and their impact on web analytics is a plus

Compensation And Benefits

  • The range for full-time annual compensation range for this position is $90,000-$115,000, depending on experience.
