Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Financial Analyst based in Kansas City, MO. The Financial Analyst will report directly to the CFO and be responsible for supporting financial planning, reporting, and analysis for a fast‑paced 3PL environment. This role partners with operations, account management, and executive leadership to provide insight into business performance, support decision‑making, and ensure financial accuracy. The analyst evaluates pricing and cost structures, analyzes client profitability, and supports forecasting and budgeting activities.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports and dashboards.
  • Analyze variances between actual results and forecasts/budgets.
  • Track KPIs related to distribution, transportation, and warehouse performance.
  • Create pricing models for customer contracts.
  • Assist with implementation of a procurement system and oversight of the process.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities that impact financial performance.
  • Conduct client‑level profitability studies and support pricing initiatives.
  • Recommend cost‑saving strategies based on data insights.
  • Collaborate with operations, accounting, and sales teams on financial needs.
  • Provide analysis to support new business proposals and contract renewals.
  • Participate in special projects involving automation, analytics, or process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Financial Planning and the ability to prepare accurate and actionable forecasts
  • Strong Analytical Skills to evaluate data and provide insight for informed decision-making
  • Experience in preparing and interpreting Financial Statements
  • Knowledge in Finance and Financial Reporting to support organizational strategies
  • Proficient in using financial software and tools, including accounting and spreadsheet applications
  • Experience in QuickBooks is highly preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Prior experience in logistics, manufacturing, or related industries is advantageous
