This position is instrumental in supporting the Financial Planning & Analysis function within the entire organization. Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the company-wide business plan and forecasting process, internal reporting for management and private equity sponsor, company debt facilities, compliance, and operations analysis supporting executive decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in the corporate business forecast and planning process by assisting in the preparation of the forecast consolidation including supporting detail schedules, income statement, balance sheet and cash flow, and performing related sensitivity analysis.
  • Oversee the preparation of consolidation reports and materials for senior executives and management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Perform data analysis and review financial models to identify trends and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Prepare month end variance analysis including gross margin variances on homes closed and in backlog
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and administrator for Workday Adaptive Planning, supporting system maintenance, data integrity, reporting, and user training.
  • Perform financial analysis, create ad-hoc and recurring reports, and support the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly presentations for executive leadership and private equity sponsors.
  • Develop a deep understanding of homebuilding project-level budgets, operational metrics, cash flow timing, and how data flows between the company’s accounting, forecasting, and reporting systems.
  • Prepare and monitor the company’s monthly borrowing base for the unsecured line of credit, maintaining relationships with key banking partners.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and other departments to enhance reporting accuracy, streamline processes, improve communication, and drive organizational efficiency.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine financial reports, tools, and processes to improve insight and effectiveness.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of public accounting (Big 4) preferred.
  • 2-5 years of total accounting and/or financial analysis experience.
  • Experience in residential, home-building, construction, or real estate accounting preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint data graphing.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable communicating cross-functionally with internal and external business partners.

Base Salary

The expected base salary for this position is between $85,000 to $105,000 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base salary is paid bi-weekly.

Physical Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary position. Requires the ability to hear, type and talk. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard. The primary work location is a corporate office with low to moderate noise levels. Appropriate business apparel and professional appearance is expected.

Travel Requirements
