At Signal & Strand

Signal & Strand partners with organizations at inflection points — moments when clarity, rigor, and trust matter most. Whether supporting a family office, a fund, or a growing company, we help build teams that make thoughtful decisions in complex environments.

On behalf of our client, a privately held family office with a broad portfolio spanning real estate, operating companies, and direct investments, we’re seeking a Financial Analyst who combines analytical sharpness with healthy skepticism — someone who can model opportunity, challenge assumptions, and uncover what’s true beneath the surface.

What You’ll Do

Valuation & Analysis

  • Build and maintain financial models across real estate, operating businesses, and new investments.
  • Evaluate acquisition opportunities, perform due diligence, and develop forward-looking projections.
  • Assess business valuations and investment performance with precision and perspective.
  • Synthesize complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for leadership.

Real Estate & Direct Investment Support

  • Conduct detailed underwriting and sensitivity analyses for real-estate assets and development projects.
  • Support investment and divestment decisions through rigorous scenario modeling and benchmarking.
  • Track market trends, performance metrics, and valuations across asset classes.

Strategic Finance

  • Partner with senior accountants, advisors, and principals to connect financial data to broader strategy.
  • Help refine financial systems, reporting tools, and performance dashboards.
  • Contribute to investment memos and presentations that translate financial depth into strategic clarity.

What You Bring

  • 5–8+ years of financial-analysis experience, ideally within a family office, investment firm, or multi-asset environment.
  • Deep fluency in real-estate valuation, business modeling, and investment analysis.
  • Advanced Excel and financial-modeling skills; comfort working with incomplete or evolving data.
  • Strong analytical instincts — able to test assumptions, identify inconsistencies, and “poke holes” to get to truth.
  • Clear communicator who moves easily between detail and synthesis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (CFA or CPA a plus).
