BG Fuels is looking for a Financial Analyst - Business Planning & Performance to join our team!

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Ideal for a highly motivated individual that can play the crucial role of providing impactful support in decision making. The role is dynamic and hands-on requiring the ability to think critically and communicate concepts in a clear manner. Updating and distributing the company’s financial/KPI reporting, budgets/forecasts, and variance analyses will be key aspects of this role. This position reports directly to the CFO and offers an elevated level of visibility with Senior/Executive Management Team members, as well across key functional areas.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to prepare comprehensive annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly, period-end and quarter-end KPI/financial results.
  • Prepare monthly stewardship reporting for senior management, providing commentary on financial results and any additional insights.
  • Lead development of automated reporting using Power BI to inform stakeholders of actionable insights, trends, and business results.
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis to explain financial performance trends and drivers
  • Support quarterly external reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and effective communication of results
  • Become a key supporting resource for ad-hoc analysis and modelling to support decision making, including growth and strategic initiatives, cost-management efforts, and operational decision-making.

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • University degree in business, accounting, finance, statistics, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of finance/accounting experience in a corporate environment.
  • Advance knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Experience building reports using PowerBI and SQL to analyze large datasets, and transform them into clear, structured, and easy to understand reporting outputs.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills that can speak concepts in clear and actionable output.
  • Ability to self-direct and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets for trend and variance analysis.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

SKILLS/ATTRIUTES DESIRED:

  • Enrollment in or possession of a recognized accounting designation (e.g. CPA)
  • Experience integrating ERP data into

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $80,000 - 90,000 annually
