About the job

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for the financial planning, analysis and cash management for the company. The position will report to the CFO and will work closely with the division controllers and other key leaders in the business. The position will be hybrid with an office in Closter, NJ and will require occasional travel to our plants in Jamestown, NY, Shirley, MA, Poway, CA and Mexicali, Mexico.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively analyze operational, commercial, strategic and financial data/metrics in order to provide insightful analysis to drive management actions and initiatives and the planning process
  • Lead annual budgeting process and periodic forecast updates with input from business partners
  • Prepare weekly, detailed 13-week cash forecast
  • Manage liquidity needs of the business
  • Own and build on current models to forecast financials and operational KPIs
  • Review plant costs, assist with productivity projects, help GMs achieve their Budgets
  • Analyze profitability of customers and products and assist with pricing decisions
  • Model costs and benefits for capital projects and track spending for approved projects
  • Provide monthly reporting and commentary for management, lenders and equity sponsor
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly presentations to the Board of Directors
  • Monitor and report on market changes including macroeconomics, customers and competitors
  • Other special projects to support the CEO, CFO, and General Managers
  • Assist the accounting team with month-end closing activities, as needed (e.g. allocations and valuations)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • A track record of increased responsibilities and proven success of financial analysis capabilities
  • Experience with accounting principles, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and analysis across the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows
  • Experience with extracting data from ERP systems for analysis and managing large data sets

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office with expert level skills in Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong business acumen with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, resourceful
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Fosters positive work relationships and is a solid team player
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet deadlines
