Job Summary:
The Lean Six Sigma Business Analyst is responsible for leading and supporting process improvement efforts across the organization using Lean Six Sigma principles, statistical tools, and structured methodologies. The Lean Six Sigma Business Analyst partners with departments across functional areas to evaluate workflows, identify performance gaps, and implement sustainable solutions that enhance operational efficiency, quality, and compliance. This role contributes to a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven analysis, facilitation, and cross-functional collaboration, while supporting departments in embedding daily improvement practices into frontline operations.
Essential Functions:
- Process Analysis and Optimization: Evaluate current workflows and identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and bottlenecks. Facilitate the development of optimized processes that align with operational goals and external performance standards.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess operational and compliance performance. Identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Process Improvement Implementation: Support the development and execution of targeted process improvements, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, Toyota Kata, and other recognized methodologies to drive results.
- Continuous Improvement Culture Enablement: Support the organization’s transition to a culture of daily improvement by building departmental capacity to lead and sustain improvements. Coach leaders and supervisors in engaging frontline staff, applying improvement routines, and translating performance insights into action.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage teams across clinical, administrative, compliance, and IT functions to ensure improvements are aligned with business needs and strategic priorities. Serve as a coach and advisor to departments on applying Continuous Improvement thinking within their day-to-day work.
- Performance Measurement and Reporting: Collaborate with Manager of Compliance and Business Intelligence Team to develop key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor progress, and report results of implemented changes.
- Process Mapping and Documentation: Develop and maintain visual workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation that support process clarity and sustainability.
- Training and Change Support: Partner with Organizational Training, Clinical Training, and departmental teams to develop and deliver training and coaching for new or revised processes. Equip teams to integrate continuous improvement into daily routines by providing tools, frameworks (e.g., TWI, Kata), and support that enable frontline staff to identify and act on opportunities. Promote staff engagement and adoption.
- Project Support and Leadership: Lead or contribute to initiatives focused on performance optimization, regulatory readiness, or cost-efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt or equivalent training strongly preferred.
- Additional certifications in project management, data analytics, or process improvement are advantageous.
