Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Senior Business Analyst will work with various Financial Crimes teams and Business groups facilitating requirement gathering sessions for programs and projects related to regulatory changes and enhancement of the Financial Crimes program. The Analyst will lead meetings with stakeholders to discuss the progress of projects, following up on action items to ensure project objectives are achieved. The Analyst will also coordinate and assist with testing and training.

What will you do?

Produce detailed project artefacts including Project plans, Mapping documents, Use Cases/Stories, and User Acceptance Test plan and cases, working with Project Managers to recommend business solutions that satisfy sponsor/stakeholder needs
Undertake a leadership role as part of the requirements analysis and gathering process, including facilitation of meetings, providing status updates, monitoring work stream deliverables and timelines, reporting, and escalating to project leadership team when appropriate
Work with business teams to translate regulatory requirements ( Fintrac LCTR/EFTR ) into functional requirements, system rules, and runbooks.
Work closely with Vendor to implement , test and tune detection rules, own vendor tickets, UAT, change requests and SLAs.
Investigate and mediate business and project issues, risks, and obtain consensus from applicable project stakeholders
Coordinate and manage pilot test groups, and product/process rollouts
Develop criteria for and participate in the evaluation of 3rd party vendors and software as well as due diligence exercises
Enhance and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems.
Support enhancements to monitoring and reporting systems.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
Firm knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies and tools
Over 5 years of experience working on large projects
Strong AML knowledge including FINTRAC reporting experience
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Experienced managing several significant projects simultaneously

Nice-to-have:

Strong IT background with deep understanding of various roles in project
Data Analysis skills (SQL / Python ) on structured and semi-structured data (JSON formats)
Data Management Skills – maintain lineage, CDEs in Collibra
Familiarity with payments data ( EFT / ACH , wire/cross-border ) and transaction lifecycle
Prior Project experience with AML third parties like Navaera
