About the Role

As the Senior Financial Data Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting Simetric’s financial operations, customer engagements, and data-driven initiatives. You will apply strong analytical thinking, financial acumen, SQL expertise, and strong operational instincts to optimize financial and operational outcomes for customers and internal teams. You will interact with customers, analyze usage and financial patterns, manage key operational metrics, automate recurring processes, and deliver executive-ready insights that support both internal and customer-facing decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key financial and operational analyst supporting customer-facing financial reviews, usage optimization discussions, and executive briefings.
• Analyze customer billing, usage, spend behavior, and optimization opportunities across large datasets using SQL and advanced analytics.
• Participate directly in customer meetings to explain findings, present insights, and collaborate on financial optimization strategies.
• Develop, track, and manage operational and financial KPIs that support both internal teams and customer-facing reporting.
• Build and maintain advanced Excel models and automated reporting tools to streamline operational workflows.
• Support day-to-day operational activities, including billing validation, metric updates, customer health monitoring, and financial reconciliation tasks.
• Translate complex financial and operational datasets into clear summaries and recommendations suitable for executive audiences.
• Automate manual processes—including reporting, reconciliation, and customer deliverables—to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Work cross-functionally with Operations, Product, Finance, and Customer Success to align on business assumptions and customer-driven requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and interpret financial models, forecasts, and analytical frameworks to support strategic decision-making.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning cycles.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of operational and financial data across all reporting channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, operational analytics, data analytics, FP&A, or similar roles.
• Advanced SQL proficiency with experience handling large datasets.
• Expert-level Excel skills, including modeling, automation, and advanced formulas.
• Experience interacting directly with customers or supporting customer-facing teams.
• Strong financial reasoning and ability to apply logic and optimization thinking.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate data into business insights.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple operational workflows simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in SaaS, telecommunications, or data-intensive operational environments.
• Familiarity with BI or visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Experience in customer success analytics, billing analysis, or subscription-based business models.
