Position Description
The BI Analyst supports all of 80/20’s Global Business teams by helping collect, organize, analyze and interpret company data. Working closely with senior analysts, decision makers, and the BI team, this role assists in transforming raw information into clear, actionable insights that help drive sound business decisions. The BI Analyst develops an understanding of core business processes, learns key systems, and contributes to maintaining reliable, accurate, and readily available information for stakeholders across the organization. As the organization continues modernizing its data ecosystem, this role will support data processes within modern cloud-based data platforms, help maintain structured and well organized data assets, and assist in implementing current best practices in data management and analytics.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Assisting stakeholders in gathering and documenting basic reporting and analytics requirements.
- Supporting efforts to assess the accuracy, completeness, and quality of data sources.
- Performing foundational data analysis to help meet business objectives.
- Helping clean, organize, and standardize data under guidance from senior team members.
- Maintaining and updating existing reports, dashboards, and BI assets.
- Learning to work with BI and analytical tools such as SSRS, Power BI, SQL, and modern data platform technologies. Documenting processes, data definitions, and reporting sources.
- Participating in educational opportunities to build BI and analytical skill sets.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Statistics, Data Analytics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years of experience in analytics, reporting, or business intelligence.
- Basic familiarity with SQL, reporting tools, and modern cloud data platforms.
- Willingness to learn modern data architecture concepts and cloud-based data workflows.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, with peers and business teams, in a team‑oriented environment.
- Possesses a high level of self‑motivation, keen attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven ability to show discretion in handling sensitive information.
