Project: Client Analytics Reporting (CAP)

Project Overview

Client Analytics Platform (CAP) is an internal reporting platform used extensively by Business Banking leadership, bankers, and executives to evaluate client profitability, revenue trends, capital allocation, asset balances, fund transfer pricing, liquidity metrics (LCR), and other core financial insights. CAP is a mission-critical data and analytics environment supporting strategic decision-making and regulatory/balance sheet reporting.

Typical Day in Role

• Serve as the technical business/data analyst on projects related to CAP’s analytics and reporting workflows
• Analyze monthly/daily data sources, including raw data extraction, transformation, and mapping into structured schemas
• Write and optimize intermediate–advanced SQL queries across large datasets
• Support the development of stable, scalable ETL processes used in profitability and regulatory reporting
• Collaborate with data engineers, SMEs, architects, modelers, and IT peers to deliver complex data solutions
• Support revenue reporting, P&L analysis, and financial data validation
• Provide acceptance testing, verification, and sign-off with users
• Prepare detailed business requirements, technical specifications, and data mapping artifacts
• Participate in after-hours production support occasionally (as needed for deployments)
• Drive improvements to processes, automation, testing methodologies, and delivery practices
• Provide oversight or input into reporting solutions using Tableau or other BI tools

Must-Have Skills & Experience

1. 10+ years experience as a Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst in technical/data-heavy environments
2. 7+ years hands-on experience writing intermediate to advanced SQL queries
3. 7+ years experience as a Business Data Analyst, including data mapping, big data processing, and complex data transformations
4. 3+ years experience with financial/accounting concepts
5. 3+ years experience working with revenue reporting and P&L

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Proficiency with Power BI (strong asset)
• Fluency in Spanish
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Recent experience at a Top 5 Canadian Bank
