What you will do:
We are looking for a BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST II - FINANCE who can help shape our vision and support our mission. Here is what the position will look like.
- Partner with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders to understand analytical and reporting needs and deliver accurate, actionable business intelligence solutions.
- Gather, analyze, and document reporting and analytical requirements through research, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Translate complex internal and external business intelligence requests into high-quality analytical products using the most credible and efficient data sources.
- Design, develop, and maintain recurring and ad hoc financial and operational reports, dashboards, and analyses using SQL, Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Excel.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to extract, transform, and analyze financial, claims, enrollment, capitation, and utilization data.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities related to budgeting, forecasting, rate setting, claims billing, cost analysis, and overall financial performance.
- Support rate-setting activities under the guidance of the Manager of Financial Analysis.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data through validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes.
- Identify, document, and assist in resolving data quality issues.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes, improve data workflows, and enhance self-service analytic capabilities.
- Maintain documentation of reports, data sources, business logic, and analytical methodologies.
- In coordination with department management, support designated elements of the Company’s Strategic Plan as identified focus areas for this position.
What you will bring:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related area, statistics, computer science, information systems, finance, accounting, or related field. An equivalent combination of experience and/or education may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a data-focused role, leveraging data to inform business decisions.
- 2 years’ experience with SQL is required with a preference for advanced SQL experience and SQL Server.
- Experience developing reports and dashboards using BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, SSRS, Excel, Business Objects, or similar platforms) is required.
- A background in healthcare or finance is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data patterns and trends.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities, with attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Capable of translating complex business questions into clear requirements and effective data solutions.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries (e.g., subqueries, window functions, temp tables, CTEs, etc.).
- Demonstrates support for the company’s mission, vision and values.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, supported by good organizational and time management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with tight deadlines.
- General understanding of health benefits, medical terminology, medical procedures, and the managed care industry is a plus. Familiarity with CPT, ICD and other medical coding systems is a plus.
Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance will be required for any position requiring driving.

Pay, Perks and Benefits at Colorado Access:
The compensation for this position is $86,100.00- $96,600.00 annually. Colorado Access has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Colorado Access may pay for the position at the time of posting. Colorado Access may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

Where you will work:
This position will be a hybrid model work environment, a blend of ‘In-Office’ and ‘Remote.’
