New York Post Data Labs is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Commerce Business Analyst to join our Data Science and Analytics team. In this role, you will be the dedicated analytics partner for the New York Post Commerce department. You will be responsible for providing insights that drive business growth by analyzing performance metrics, identifying trends, and optimizing our Commerce strategies. This is a crucial position for someone who is passionate about data and its power to inform strategic business decisions in a fast-paced media & Commerce environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for all affiliate marketing campaigns, including clicks, conversions, commission, and return on investment (ROI).
  • Data Reporting: Develop and maintain recurring reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools to provide clear visibility into performance for stakeholders.
  • Strategic Insights: Proactively identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities in data to provide actionable recommendations for improving affiliate program efficiency and profitability.
  • Forecasting & Modeling: Assist in building and maintaining models and forecasts to project future performance needs.
  • A/B Testing & Optimization: Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests to optimize landing pages, offers, and partner performance.
  • Data Partnership: Serve as a dedicated data partner to the Commerce Team, working closely with leadership to translate business goals into data strategy and deliver clear, actionable insights.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of all data sources, reporting, and analysis.

Qualifications:

Required

  • 2+ years of professional experience in data analytics within a publishing environment or affiliate marketing organization (publisher-focused experience strongly preferred).
  • Experience with a business intelligence platform (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Familiarity with affiliate tracking & Commerce business models, platforms and tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth analysis, draw conclusions, and present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization.

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience with languages like Python & SQL for data manipulation and statistical analysis.
  • Proven experience working with large, complex datasets.
