This position may require access to export-controlled technology or software source code that is subject to export controls restrictions under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”) and will therefore be required to meet eligibility criteria under ITAR and EAR regulations.

Summary:

The Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Palmer Foundry finance team and will support the Controller in the financial operations of a growing manufacturing business. The organization is actively investing in its people, manufacturing capabilities, and infrastructure to fuel future growth. The Financial Analyst will perform a critical role in preparing journal entries, supporting the monthly close process, and providing visibility to internal stakeholders of KPI’s. This role will serve as a key stakeholder in the company’s ERP system and will maintain the company’s Standard Cost system. The Financial Analyst will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Sales to develop a strong understanding of the business, its cost structure, and key operational drivers. Duties:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The primary responsibilities of the Financial Analyst will be:

  • Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP
  • Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Prepare weekly financial and operational KPI reports for management
  • Analyze financial and operational results, including variances to standard cost, budget, and forecast
  • Support the development of the annual operating budget in collaboration with the Controller and department leaders
  • Prepare quarterly financial reforecasts reflecting current operating conditions and business initiatives
  • Support operational accounting as needed
  • Serve as a key stakeholder and business partner for the Company’s ERP system
  • Maintain, monitor, and enhance the existing standard cost system, including material, labor, and overhead costs
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to ensure accuracy of bills of material, routings, and cost data
  • Support ERP-related process improvements, system enhancements, and data integrity initiatives
  • Work closely with operational leadership to improve cost transparency and financial controls
  • Support internal control processes and financial documentation
  • Assist with audits, banking requests, and special projects as assigned by the Controller
  • Perform Ad-Hoc Analysis and other duties as assigned

Competency:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should be proficient in accounting software (like Oracle, SAP, or Odyssey), GAAP knowledge, and have strong analytical skills. The individual should also have attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, time management, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and financial reporting
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with ERP systems; manufacturing ERP experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite with a focus on Microsoft Excel
  • Cost accounting and standard costing experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Organizational, planning, and documentation skills
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Salary range: $60,000 - $85,000 (commensurate with experience)
