We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Junior Financial Analyst to support enterprise IT cost initiatives within a large, complex global environment.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Our client’s Corporate IT Financial Management team is responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting on IT operational and initiative-based spend across the enterprise. As IT transformation efforts continue to accelerate, there is a growing need for disciplined financial governance, accurate forecasting, and cost transparency.

The Junior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting IT cost management processes, partnering closely with IT Finance, cost center owners, budget owners, and program leads to ensure strong financial visibility and reporting integrity.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will support financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting activities related to IT operations and transformation initiatives.

• Assisting in tracking IT operational and project spend, vendor invoices, and financial actuals to support cost transparency and governance
• Working with cost center and invoice owners to update forecasts based on timing and spend trends
• Supporting month-end accounting activities including financial updates and reclasses
• Consolidating inputs for monthly forecasting cycles, processing finance feeds, reviewing variances, and preparing forecast submission files
• Performing analysis related to IT spend variances, OpCo cross-charges, manual accruals, and amortization schedules
• Maintaining financial models, dashboards, and leadership reporting for forecast versus actual tracking
• Collaborating with IT, Finance, and Accounting partners to gather data, validate financial assumptions, and enhance cost reporting processes

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting
• Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities
• Experience with ETL tools and Power Query is considered an asset
• Familiarity with financial systems, budgeting, and reporting tools
• Experience with Power BI, Dynamics 365, and Limelight is considered an asset
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across IT and Finance teams
• Curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to learn IT financial management processes

ABOUT THE ROLE

Location: Remote (Eastern Time Zone hours required)

Duration: 8+ month contract

PAY DISCLOSURE

The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows (CAD):

Junior Level: 3 years of experience — $40–55/hr

Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.
