Business Analyst – Capital Markets (Non-IT)

About the Role

A seasoned Business Analyst is required to support a major Client Tax Modernization initiative within a Capital Markets environment. This is a high-visibility, regulatory-driven program requiring deep expertise in client tax reporting and capital markets products.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze complex business requirements related to client tax reporting processes
• Conduct gap analysis and create impact assessments, user stories, workflows, and design documentation
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand existing processes and propose scalable improvements
• Translate business needs into clear requirements for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Provide subject matter expertise on taxation workflows, withholding obligations, and reporting standards
• Support project planning, prioritization, and delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams
• Prepare cost-benefit or ROI assessments to support strategic decisions
• Serve as a liaison between business partners and technology teams
• Address ad hoc requests and help optimize end-to-end user experience

Must-Have Qualifications

1. 10+ years of Business Analyst experience
2. Strong knowledge of Client Tax Reporting (CRA/IRS)
3. 5+ years recent experience in Capital Markets and Global Banking
4. Hands-on experience with financial products such as:

• Derivatives
• Fixed income
• Other trading products relevant to reporting and withholding

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with NR4, 1099, and other CRA/IRS reporting obligations
• Recent experience within a Banking or Financial Institution
• Exposure to taxation across multiple products or jurisdictions
