Senior Business Analyst – Risk Data & Reporting Initiatives

Contract: 12 months (extension and conversion possible)

Start Date: January 5, 2026

Work Model: Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite (Toronto or Waterloo)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to support Corporate Risk Operations in the build-out of the Risk Data Repository (RDR) and the development of Tableau and GenAI-enabled reporting capabilities. This role requires a combination of strong business analysis leadership, technical aptitude, and the ability to work across multiple internal stakeholder groups.

The Senior BA will act as a core partner to business and technology teams—leading requirements gathering, managing the JIRA board, facilitating weekly product stand-ups, and ensuring reporting and data solutions meet the needs of a global risk organization.

This role is best suited to someone who thrives in complex, data-centric environments, is comfortable working independently, and can quickly understand how data flows across systems to support reporting and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end requirements gathering, analysis, clarification, and documentation for reporting, data, and GenAI-related initiatives
• Facilitate workshops and interviews with diverse business and technology stakeholders
• Maintain and manage the product JIRA backlog; support sprint planning and weekly stand-ups
• Partner with business stakeholders to define reporting needs for dashboards and operational insights
• Understand data lineage and data flow across systems to ensure reporting accuracy and completeness
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Canada, the US, and Asia
• Provide strategic recommendations based on business priorities and risk considerations
• Support process modeling, data modeling, and business rules definition
• Contribute to continuous improvement of analysis practices, documentation standards, and team processes

Must-Have Skills & Experience (Non-Negotiable)

Experience Requirements

• 7–10 years of Business Analyst experience in complex enterprise environments
• Proven experience leading requirements gathering sessions with multiple internal stakeholders
• Experience in Financial Services (mandatory)

Technical Requirements

• Strong proficiency with the following tools:
• Tableau
• JIRA
• Miro
• Confluence
• MS Teams
• SharePoint
• Experience working with or exposure to GenAI tools, including:
• Amazon Q for Business
• Microsoft Copilot
• LLM-based chatbots
• Strong understanding of data flow between systems and how reporting tools consume and interpret data

Core Skill Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management capability

• Insurance or Wealth domain knowledge
• Experience with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
